What are the Hospital Bed Requirements for a Medical College with 150 MBBS Seats? (UG-MSR 2023)

According to UG-MSR 2023, a medical college with an annual intake of 150 MBBS students must have an attached teaching hospital with a minimum of 605 teaching beds, distributed as follows:

In addition to the minimum bed strength, the teaching hospital should maintain:

• Minimum daily OPD attendance:1,200 patients

• Average indoor bed occupancy:At least 80% per annum

• Major Operation Theatres:8

• Minor Operation Theatre: One well-equipped minor OT with anaesthesia facility for each surgical specialty.

• Functional emergency services, ICUs, and other hospital facilities as prescribed under UG-MSR 2023.
